Personal Learning Plan

Where will technology take me? Well, over the last few courses, I have spent a lot of time thinking about my future with technology. I have broken my learning plan into two categories; personal and professional.

Personal:

Professional:

You may have noticed that there were many overlaps. This is because in order for me to be successful on a professional level, technology will need to be part of my daily life. So, becoming comfortable and familiar with these tools is important.

My future goals, are exactly that, future. I hope to reach them overtime, not overnight. However, through my CEp 815 class, I have learned the importance of setting goals. The main way I will achieve these goals is by continuing to learn. The more I learn, the more I challenge myself, the more I will achieve. In order to reach any of my future goals, I will continue to educate myself. This will be a challenge because learning more requires time and diligence. I will have too work hard to do this. I can do this through expanding my RSS feeds, blogs, and my social networks.

This course has provided me with a lot of tools I hope to use in the future. Developing my Wicked Project was a challenging and rewarding experience. I enjoyed seeing my own idea turn out to completion. Once more, my Wicked project was somewhat of an unsure thing; I had to go back, many times, to the drawing board to make it better. I also found the pod casting and audio labs incredibly helpful. This is totally new to me and I am excited to learn more about editing and creating audio and video.

  1. I too found this class to be exciting and a wealth of knowledge. It is important that we as educators recognize the same issues we have with unfamiliar things that make us uncomfortable are the same issues our students have with things that are unfamiliar. Your goals represented you becoming familiar and mastering the tool presented throughout the program and future accomplishments. I applaud your efforts and hope your journey in technology integration is fruitful. Thank you.

  2. I really liked how your diagrams had both your present technology usage and future technology goals. It was a great idea to lay them out next to one another and see how you will grow from what you are currently doing right now. You mentioned the overlap that exists in these. As a teacher that is truly dedicated to their profession, I think that this is exactly what we should be seeing. Many of my interest are related to education, which I think is very typical of most educators. Additionally, many of the tools that will help you as an educator will also help you in your personal life. I like that you didn't give yourself any specific timelines, but are willing to let things play out over time.

Your wicked project is a great thing to continue to focus on as a goal for the future. I think that you will have great success using clickers in the classroom, especially if you can find the perfect way to use them. You have some great goals for the future!

  3. Nice visualization using Cacoo. I like how you separated personal and professional. Additionally, I like that both visualizations contained "Today - Future" --> hopefully the gap will continue to close as the future become today... :)

As you continue to set goals, I hope you are able to craft goals that are attainable, and that push you beyond what you thought you were capable of...

Keep your sights on the future...it will be here before you know it.

Thanks for sharing, and best of luck in your future endeavors.
